Hello world!! I am so excited to be blogging again this year! Sophomore year has just started, and I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for me! I am really looking forward to sharing all of that excitement with you! I hope through my blog you can get a good glimpse of what being a student here at Stonehill is like, whether you are a prospective student, a parent, or just someone who, for God knows what reason, thinks my life is interesting.

“everybody’s looking forward to the weekend..”

Yes, even here in the Stonehill bubble, we were hit with Rebecca Black fever.  The first Friday back from Spring Break, “we, we, we so excited” blasted from the junior courts all day long.  But, even though every weekend here at Stonehill is “fun, fun, fun,” there is one weekend in particular that the whole campus looks forward to the most: SPRING WEEKEND. Spring Weekend happens once a year and so far, has managed never to disappoint. The weekend includes a concert, carnival, and a mixer.

There was a little controversy leading up to this year’s Spring Weekend.  Spring Weekend events are traditionally held in the field house in the sports complex.  But, the field house is currently under renovation. So that begged the question, “Where will Spring Weekend be??”.  Rumors spread throughout campus that is was being held on the quad, on the plaza by the science center, and even on Donahue hill.  But the actual answer was something no one really guessed.  It was being held on plaza outside the science center, but it would be in a TENT! Within 24 hours of this news breaking, the tent was already up! Kids were skeptical whether this would really be a good place to hold the concert, and how long this huge tent was going to chilling on the plaza.  However, even with some initial skepticism, I think everyone ended up being happy with it.  The tent is already gone, so it isn’t in anyone’s way.  And, it ended up being a great venue for the concert. AND, on top of all that, along with generously donating money for the tent, some lovely alumni have also donated funds for an ICE RINK to go in the plaza during the winter!  I am extremely excited for that! Being from California, I have never skated on an outdoor skating rink, so it will be so much fun having one on campus next year! But, back to spring weekend!

This year, the concert performers were K’naan and Matt & Kim.  I personally love both of these acts! (I attached some songs at the bottom if you want to take a listen!).  I actually saw Matt & Kim in Boston in the fall.  It was a great show then, so I knew they wouldn’t disappoint.  And I was right!  They did such a great job!  They showered the entire student body with balloons as we danced along to some of their best hits!  And K’naan was great too!  His music is so inspiring, and everyone got really into it.  I really couldn’t have asked for better performers!

Saturday was the carnival and the mixer.  I didn’t make it to the carnival, but I heard it was a lot of fun.  Instead, my friends and I went to support our friend Caitlyn and the lacrosse team in their game against C.W. Post.  Stonehill has never beat them before, but this year they WON!  It was such an exciting game, and a good day to be a Skyhawk! Later in the night was the mixer.  This year, it was in Merkert gym because of the field house renovations.  I thought it was going to feel a bit too much like a lame high school dance, but it actually ended up being really fun! And then some of my friends and I ended the night with some Just Dance on the Wii.  We were all pretty horrible, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

Spring Weekend was great!  I will be abroad in the spring next year, so its weird to think I only have one left! But with my last two being so great, I’m sure my senior year Spring Weekend won’t let me down either!

Relay for Life!

This past weekend at Stonehill, we had Relay for Life!  I have never done it before, but I am really glad I did.  For those of you who don’t know, Relay is an event that gets held all around the country to benefit cancer research.  You make teams, and stay on the track all night.  My friend Carolyn formed a team.  I didn’t know too  much about it, but she wanted to do it, so I thought, “why not?”.  It ended up being a really great night.  There were different laps dedicated to different things.  Some were fun themes, and some were for specific survivors.  My favorite part was the luminaria ceremony.  Luminarias are bags lining the track that people decorated prior to the night.  Some have names of people they lost to cancer, some with people who are currently fighting, or those who have won the fight, and some have words of encouragement.  During the ceremony, there was a running slideshow with music and pictures of people that Stonehill students personally know who have faced cancer.  With all the stadium lights off, we all walked and dropped glow sticks into the luminaria bags, so only they were lit lining the track.  We then did a silent lap in remembrance for all those we know who have fought cancer.  It was a really great moment.  I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

The night was also filled with really fun moments!  They had relay games, scavenger hunts, and different things to entertain us throughout night.  My friends and I spent most of our time playing Ninja or volleyball, when we weren’t walking around the track.  The Stonehill radio station also stayed all night to entertain us. AND, there was free food, so who could turn that down?!  Overall, it was an amazing night.  I am so glad I participated and can’t wait to do it again next year!

Spring Break!

School work is starting to get real.  We are half way through the semester already! And with that, comes midterms, exams
and papers. So with all the work piling on, it was really great to have the chance to relax and go home for spring break.  One of my suitemates, Kristen, came home with me! We had a really great time!  We actually went to her house in the Connecticut for the weekend.  The flights to LA can get pretty pricey sometimes, so we waited to fly out until Sunday to save some money.  Once we got to California, it was great.  We definitely took advantage of the weather.  We each sported shorts and flip flops the entire break, taking in the over 70 degree weather.  Though I love experiencing seasons at Stonehill, with this harsh winter we’re having this year, coming back to the sunshine sometimes makes me wonder why I ever left it.  We spent the week doing all of my favorite things from home.  We spent a day at the beach, visiting my grandparents, going to Balboa Island (if you have seen Arrested Development, yes that is a real place and they really do sell frozen bananas year round), shopping, and taking in the sunset at my favorite beach, El Morro. We also spent a day visiting friends who are still in school back in LA, and shopping in Santa Monica.  We of course also had to have one day of complete laziness, because most of the time at school, that is impossible.  We spent the day eating frozen yogurt and watching High School Musical (though we did manage to leave the house for a bit to do some more very necessary shopping!).  We also did a very touristy day for Kristen!  It was her very first time in California, so we obviously had to see all of the famous sites.  We drove around Beverly Hills, and went to see the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Blvd.  We also drove up to the Griffith Observatory, which is a place high up in the Hollywood hills where you can get a perfect view of the Hollywood sign and look out over all of Los Angeles.  It was a pretty short trip, because we were already back on a plane to Hartford on Friday.  But even though it wasn’t long, it was so great to be home and see my parents, and also get to show Kristen my life outside of Stonehill.

Santa Monica :)

Hollywood!

Break was awesome, but it is great to be back at school!  My roommate Tara went to Europe with her Learning Community during spring break, so I got to hear all of the exciting stories of her travels!  Even though breaks always go by fast, when we get back it always seems like we have so much to catch up on!  The coming weeks should be pretty exciting!  This weekend we are celebrating Kristen’s birthday, and then Tara and my other suitemate Amy’s birthdays are coming up too!  And, Spring weekend is also getting much closer!  I can’t believe how fast this semester is going by!  Though the weather still seems to think its winter, spring is here, and summer will be here before we know it!

“..where you invest your love, you invest your life”

A couple weekends ago, I went on a retreat through Stonehill’s campus ministry.  I used to go on a lot of retreats back in high school, but this was the first time I have attended one at Stonehill. I thought about going last year, but I never went through with it.  But, with the encouragement of some friends, I decided that a weekend retreat would be a splendid idea!   A few friends from my LC were also going, so I was ready for a fun weekend hanging out with them, if nothing else.  But, I ended up getting much more than that.

Now, I of course cannot give too much away about the happenings of the retreat, because everything shared there is private and personal.  But, I can still share a little bit, at least, of what I got out of it, to hopefully encourage any current or future students to go on retreat.  There were a couple of things on the retreat that stuck out to me.   They were kind of odd things to focus on, seeming fairly insignificant compared to everything else that went on that weekend, but they are what made me think the most.  They both happened on the first night.  The first thing was just a line that the leaders told us when we arrived.  That was to “participate, not anticipate.”   We used to implement that same phrase on our retreats in high school.  You are not supposed to always be wondering what you are going to do next, but rather to simply take part in and enjoy what you are doing at the moment.  Now, even though this was supposed to be in means of the retreat activities, I thought a lot about it and how it can relate to life in general.  Growing up, we were all trained to be thinking about the next thing, or anticipating.  In high school, you had to think about getting good grades and doing the right activities to get into the college you wanted.  And now that we’re in college, we worry about picking the right major for the job we will eventually have, and what internships will look good on those job applications.  And although these things are of course very important to think about, they tend to take over sometimes.  The stress of the future inhibits us from enjoying the present.  Being away from campus on retreat without any homework or my cell phone allowed me to completely escape all those stresses of the future and live completely in the present.  It was a really great feeling.  And now that I am back on campus, I know that I cannot completely live in the present.  It would be irresponsible not to think about the future.  But at the same time, I learned that not every single minute of my day needs to be about the future.  Some of those minutes can be about the present.  Walking to class can just be enjoying the sunshine, and the sometimes chilling wind on my face, instead of worrying about what class will be like.  I can just find out when I get there.  I think it is important for everyone to have these little moments in the day, no matter how short or fleeting, to really just participate in the moment, not anticipate the next one.

The next thing that really stuck out to me was a song that one of the leaders played for us.  The song is called “Awake My Soul” by Mumford and Sons (scroll to the bottom to listen!).  My friend Carolyn had just introduced me to Mumford and Sons a few weeks before the retreat.  I loved listening and singing along to their music in my room, but I had never really taken the time to listen to the words.  One of the lines that is repeated in this song is “where you invest your love, you invest your life.”  I took the time to really think about these lyrics.  Investing your love in something is the most important thing you can do.  People don’t take lightly where they invest their love, because that truly is where your life is also invested.  This made me consider what things I invest my love in.  What was my life invested in?  Was it my relationship with God, my family, my friends, or even with myself?  The answer was YES, to all.  Though I, at times, struggle with all of those relationships, that is still very much where my love is invested, because those relationships and those people are my life.  And as your life changes, you invest your love and life in different things, like the day I chose Stonehill.  Choosing to fly 3,000 miles away from everything I knew to come to college was a big decision.  I was leaving everything that I had spent my whole life investing my love in, but it was to invest my love somewhere else.  Orange County, California will of course always have a big piece of my heart, but Stonehill has become just as important.  Stonehill has brought me new friends, opportunities, experiences, and memories that I will always keep with me.  I do not want to leave here feeling like I wasted all of my time anticipating and not participating.  I have just over two years left, and I plan on taking advantage of every moment, because I love this place.  I have invested my love here, and this place is my wonderful life.

LC friends on retreat!

Catching up!

Hello all!  Sorry it has been so incredibly long since my last post!  Life has been absolutely crazy! First semester ended so quickly, I barely realized it was over.  I was just all of a sudden back home in California wondering how the last four months could have passed so quickly.  But, I wasn’t home for long.  Just after the new year, I was off to Guatemala with my Learning Community!  Learning Communities are a great part of the curriculum here at Stonehill.  During sophomore year, each student enrolls in one of these LCs.  There are many different kinds of LCs in all different areas of study.  Some include doing volunteer work, and others involve travel, like mine!  Essentially, an LC is 3 classes.  Two of those are classes that you wouldn’t normally see together.  In my case, I had a Political Science course and a music course.  Then, there is an integrative seminar that pulls everything together and is where you really delve into the theme of your LC.  My LC’s theme was studying indigenous people and how they relate to their governments.  We, of course, learned government in our Political Science class, and in our  music course we learned differend kinds of music and culture of indigenous people all over Latin America.  To enhance our learning even more, we had the opportunity to go to Guatemala over Christmas break and see everything first hand.

My trip to Guatemala was absolutely amazing!  I have never traveled to Latin America before, so I really only had the knowledge I learned in class to go on before we arrived.  And though our professors did a great job of preparing us in the classroom, I have to say that there is really nothing like learning about something when you are actually seeing it unfold right in front of you.  Guatemala was unlike any place I had ever seen before.  The scenery was absolutely breathtaking.  The first day we actually traveled to Honduras to see the Copan ruins.  Though none of us were especially jazzed about waking up at 4 am to make the 5 hour drive to Copan, it was definitely worth it.  Throughout the trip, we began to realize that no matter how early we had to wake up, how far we had to walk or drive, or how exhausted or hungry we got, the destination was ALWAYS worth it.  There is really no way of describing the trip without having visuals, so I am going to tell the story of my trip through pictures! Our entire class at our first destination, the Copan ruins in Honduras

Traditional cemeteries in Guatemala are much different from those in the states.  Cemeteries are seen as more of a place where family and friends can come celebrate a lost one’s life.  They are painted all different colors and designs.

The market in Chichi was complete chaos.  It was a real culture shock, but it was the first time we really got to interact with the native people.  Everything they were selling was beautiful!

The whole class at Lake Atitlan.  This was probably the most beautiful site I had ever seen.  Beautiful blue water surrounded by volcanoes. BREATHTAKING.

Taking in the fresh air and boating around the lake was pure joy.

Getting a little adventurous on this bridge; it was quite a long way down!

Sharing a laugh with my friend Carolyn on the streets of Antigua! (and no, this was not staged)

We all got a blessing from a local shaman!

Best view in the world: Ruins at Tikal.

Arrived at our hotel in Tikal just in time for a gorgeous sunset.

The view from the top was always worth the trek up.

I had an interesting encounter with a tarantula.

Bus ride to the airport. We really didn’t want to leave.

Walking off the plane after a perfect trip.

Fall Travels!

These past few weeks have been so busy!! First there was Halloween weekend.  That always proves to be a great time.  Myroommate and I dressed up as house elves from Harry Potter.  We are so beyond excited for the new movie coming out soon, we thought it only appropriate to dress up in Harry Potter attire for Halloween.  We probably had as great of a time actually constructing the costumes as we did wearing them. If you read Harry Potter, or even have just seen the movies, you know house elves are not exactly the cleanest of creatures. We used pillow cases as our outfits, but they were far too clean to look like an authentic house elf.  So, we of course decided it was appropriate to go outside Sheehan and roll them around in the dirt.  Theentire Pilgrim Heights community most likely thought we were crazy, but it was a lot of fun for us, and made the costumes look great! We also made our very own S.P.E.W. pins! (if you don’t read the books, S.P.E.W. stands for Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare)  Then we of course wore mismatching socks(as we were portraying freed house elves) and that was pretty much it.  That was definitely one of my favorite costumes, and favorite halloweens ever!

The next weekend, I was off to Washington DC!  My roommate and I are both considering doing a semester in DC next fall, so I thought it would be a good idea to go there and make sure I loved it before making any big decisions.  Stonehill offers two DC programs.  One is through American University, where you would take classes along with interning, and the other program is through the Washington Center, which would be more of a full week of interning.  I am hoping do the program at American and hopefully intern at the Austrian Embassy.  The trip was so great! I hadn’t been to DC since 8th grade, and I had almost forgotten how much I loved it!  We went all around on Saturday to all the monuments and everything.  I feel like now, more so than when I was there when I was 13, I know the importance of everything, so it was incredibly awesome to actually see it.  Now I am more excited as ever to hopefully do that program next fall!  Thought it will be extremely hard of course to be away from Stonehill, my roommate will also be there, and we are only a short plane ride away.

Then, this past weekend, I headed back to the airport to fly all the way home to California for my cousin Rachel’s wedding. It was a lot of travel for just a couple of days, but it was definitely worth it!  This was the first of my cousins on my dad’s side of the family to get married, so it was pretty exciting!  She looked so gorgeous and the whole ceremony and reception was beautiful!  My cousins and I (there are over 20 of us!) are all really close, and get pretty crazy when we all get together.  The dance floor at the reception was of course our favorite part.  We spent hours dancing the night away!  My Dad and some uncles joined in and danced with us some too!  We were definitely making complete fools out of ourselves, but thats why it’s so much fun (and also very typical for my family)! I am not going home for Thanksgiving, so it was great to be able to see my family, since I won’t be seeing them again until Christmas!

At the reception!                                                                      Being silly with some of my favorite little cousins!

Dancing the night away with my Dad and cousins!         Me with the beautiful bride Rachel!

Mock Trial

Here at Stonehill, there are so many clubs and organizations to join.  There is literally something for everyone.  Freshman year, everyone is always encouraging you to get your feet wet and try new things.  But, even after freshman year passes, there is still always the opportunity to do something new!  Mock trial was always something I wanted to try in high school.  I had a few friends that did it, and it seemed so fun.  However, I was on varsity golf all 4 years, and I couldn’t do both.  So freshman year at Stonehill, I looked into it.  But, with so many new things being thrown at you, and due to lots of anxiety and nerves, I didn’t end up joining.  My roommate Tara joined though.  Last year I would always hear her talk about it and it made me wish that I had done it.  So this year, with lots of encouragement from Tara, I joined the team.  I was extremely nervous, because the only experience I had was watching my friends do it in high school.  But the team was really understanding and helped me out a lot.

This past weekend we had our first invitational of the year at UNH law school in Concord, New Hampshire.  We started out what was to be two of the most exhausting days of my life by departing from Stonehill bright and early at 5am on Saturday morning.  Now, being extremely nervous for my first trial ever, I stayed up pretty much all night practicing and managed to get about 2 hours of sleep. That was probably not the best idea of all time, but at least I felt pretty prepared.  Our first trial was at around 9, so I had time to look over everything and feel more confident.  But, when I actually had to go up there as a witness, it was a whole different story.  My heart was ponding the entire time.  But, with the exception of a couple mess-ups, it ended up going really well.  Getting the first time through definitely gave me more confidence for the rest of the weekend.  And though it was extremely exhausting, with 4 trials in two days, it was still a really good weekend.  It was really great for the team to get to know each other, especially as we will be practicing a lot more with regionals getting closer and closer.

Overall, I am really glad that I decided to join Mock Trial.  It is great, that even as a sophomore, I can still be joining new things and having new experiences.  But no matter what you are interested in, Stonehill definitely has something for you.  This experience has even made me want to join more things that I was too busy or nervous to join freshman year.  Hopefully I will still be joining new clubs even by the time I get to senior year!

Fall at the hill :)

I can’t believe its already fall! All of the leaves are starting to change, and campus

looks gorgeous! I have had a pretty eventful couple weeks.  Last week, my dad was out here on the east coast for a golf trip and managed to fit visiting me into his busy schedule.  He came a few times during the week to take me out to dinner and, of course, to take a trip to Hilliard’s.  If you have never been to Hilliard’s before, you are seriously missing out! It is this great candy and ice cream place right down the road from Stonehill.  I insist on going there anytime someone visits so they can experience it(well, thats the excuse, but really I just want the ice cream).  The highlight of his visit, other than the ice cream of course, was on Saturday.  We went to the Notre Dame football game at Boston College.  Both of my sisters went to Notre Dame (Notre Dame is also Stonehill’s sister school!) so I am a big fan! We used to go to at least one game at Notre Dame a year.  I even flew out there last year just for a game. But, this year, my sister Christine, a junior at Notre Dame (my sister Kelly graduated in ’08), is in Spain for the year studying abroad.  So it just made more sense to go to the game at BC.  I took my friend Justin with me.  We had such a good time!  I really miss the games, so it was really great that my dad came out and took us!

We had another visitor that weekend! My roommate Tara’s friend Tara (It got confusing so I referred to my roommate as ‘roomie’ for the weekend) came to visit from Fordham.  I have heard all about her, so it was great to finally meet her!  We had such a great time together!  We all went to the football game during the day on Saturday, then they went out to dinner in Boston when I met up with my dad for the BC game.  Overall it was a very fun weekend!

This last weekend was Columbus Day weekend.  It was great because we had such a long break! We not only got Monday, but also Tuesday off of school.  This is the time of the semester when things start to get stressful, so it was really great to have a nice long break. For the break, I went home with my roommate Tara back to Pennsylvania!  We roadtripped it all the way down.  Our friend Mike was visting friends in Philidelphia, and his roommate Kevin lives in New Jersey, so they both came along for the ride.  There was a lot of traffic, so it took us altogether 9 hours to get to Tara’s house.  It was a little rough near the end, but overall the drive was actually pretty fun, rocking out to Katy Perry and playing stupid car games.  After dropping off the boys, Tara and I made our way to Maryland to meet up with her family for their annual camping trip!  It was such a relaxing couple of days (other than the obnoxious amount of stink bugs, of course).  We lounged around, played Rummikub, and then went into town for dinner.  It was definitely my kind of camping!  We came home Sunday night, and then Monday we headed to St. Joe’s in Philly to see Tara’s best friend Nicole.  She showed us around campus and cooked us dinner!  It was such a fun day.  Then Mike met us at St. Joe’s and we drove back to Tara’s house to rest up for the drive back to campus in the morning. The drive back to school went much better. It only took us 6 hours, and honestly time flew by because we were having so much fun in the car.  I think all that driving made us all go a little insane, but it was extremely fun!

This weekend, Tara’s best friend Nicole is actually coming here to visit us! She gets into Boston saturday night, so we are planning on going shopping for halloween costumes in the afternoon before we get her at South Station.  We’re not sure what we are being yet, so hopefully we find something good. Wish us luck!

Sophomore SHEEHANanigans!

With a new year, comes new routines, new roommates, new classes, a new home, and of course, new excitement!  So far, sophomore year has been nothing short of exciting!  We moved in about a month ago, and it seems like everyday since then has been completely filled!  The first month of school always brings about a lot of emotions.  I was obviously estactic to be back at school and moving into my new dorm, Sheehan.  Sheehan is located in Pilgrim Heights.  It is all suite style living, which is great.  The suite-style made it easier to pick rooms that were close to friends.  In my suite, in addition to my roommate Tara, I have 4 of my best friends (Amy, Danielle, Kristen, and Caitlyn) living right next door! Being in a suite also gave us the opportunity to meet new people! Instead of just passing people in the hallway, like you would in more customary dorm-style living, we actually share a bathroom and a common room with 8 other girls.  Though we, of course, all have our own friends, it is nice to have our other suitemates also!  We put a TV in the common room, so most of the suitemates all come together for “Teen Mom” and “Jersey Shore” nights, or just to hang out and do homework.

But, starting a new year doesn’t only come with excitement; there is also a lot of stress.  The first two weeks are always a little hard.  Walking into class not knowing what to expect always makes me very anxious.  But now that I have gotten into the swing of things, I actually really enjoy all of my classes!  This semester, I am in Intermediate German, Modern Ireland, and World History I.  In addition to those classes, I have also started classes for my Learning Community.  Learning Communities are classes for sophomores, in which you take two classes that you wouldn’t normally think would go together, and then one extra seminar course that brings them together.  My particular LC also involves travel.  This semester I am enrolled in Latin American Music, and American Political History.  Then in January, the class will be taking a trip to Guatemala! I am so excited for that! It should be a great experience!  And then, in the Spring, we will take our integrative seminar course with both professors.

So even though classes started out a little stressful, everything is beginning to come together!  I even declared a major today (finally!).  I came in my freshman year undeclared, and I have been trying out a lot of new things since then.  But I have finally decided to declare as a History major with a concentration in European History. I am starting out a little behind, but Stonehill professors are really good about helping you get the credits you need and graduating on time, even when you want to spend a whole year away like me!  Another big decision I’ve made since being back at school is taking advantage of both Stonehill’s Washington DC internship program, and also their Study Abroad program (ranked 13th in the nation!!).  Both my roommate Tara and I are hoping to go to DC in the fall of our Junior year, and then study in Austria in the Spring.  But, we still have some time, so I will talk about that more later.

And of course, other than just moving in and taking classes, being back at school also means we have a lot of fun too!  Back in the beginning of September, Stonehill puts on Welcome Back Week!  Though it is called Welcome Back Week, it actually spans over the first two weeks! During those weeks we had a stand up comedian, a carnival, the opening football game, Toy Story 3 on the quad, and the big event was a concert on the first Friday night when Shwayze came and performed!  It is really nice that Stonehill provides all of those events to really start off the year with a bang!  I attended everything and had a great time and each and every event!

Another great thing about Stonehill is its location!  We are less than an hour trip to Boston.  A couple weekends ago, some of my friends and I attended CollegeFest at the Boston Convention Center and then took the T down to Quincy Market, ate dinner, went shopping, and unfortunately failed at getting cannolis in the North End.  Then this past weekend, I went to Maine!  Being from California, I am not used to being able to just drive a couple hours and end up hitting 3 states in one day. I really like that about New England.  Now I am over halfway to getting to all 50 states!  Maine was a really good trip!  I went with my good friends Kelly, Justin, and Morgan.  They all live in Villa, so I don’t see them nearly as much as Freshman year, so it was really nice to get away and spend time with them!  We went surfing, relaxed, and overall just had a great time!

In the coming weeks, I am not really slowing down at all!  This weekend, my brother is coming to visit.  Next weekend, my dad is taking me to the Notre Dame football game at BC.  The weekend after that is Columbus Day weekend, so I am going camping with Tara’s family.  Then Tara’s best friend Nicole is visiting on October 16th, and the following weekend is Family weekend.  After that, it is already November, and some friends and I are going to a concert in Boston.  Then flying back to California on the 12th for my cousin’s wedding, and then its already Thanksgiving!! And somewhere in the midst of all that I have to go to class, take midterms, write papers, eat and sleep. PHEW! I am exhausted just thinking about it!  But it should make for an exciting first semester!!
