RUN FOR SGA!

Want to be involved?  Want to put on programs for your peers?  Want to solve student problems? Then run for an SGA Position!

2014-15 SGA General Elections
Nominations now open!

Sign-up for a position outside the SGA Office in the Roche Dining Commons
Positions are for the following areas:
  • Class Committees
  • SGA Diversity Committee
  • Senior Events Committee
  • SGA Programming Committee
  • SGA Programming Subcommittees:

    • Concert/Coffeehouse (various music events)
    • Movie/Comedy (movies and comedians)
    • Special Events (BINGO nights)
    • Spirit (the rowdy section at home sporting events)
    • Trip (off-campus excursions)
There will be an SGA Open House on Wednesday, March 26 at 9:00 p.m. in The Hill (with free ice-cream treats) if students are curious and have questions about the various positions and committees. Nominations close on Monday, March 31.

SGA General Elections!

Hi Friends!

Although Executive Board voting is occuring now until this Friday, March 7th at noon, IT IS NEVER TOO EARLY TO START THINKING ABOUT SGA GENERAL ELECTIONS! They are going to come up very quickly after spring break!

SGA General Elections Timeline:

  • Monday, March 24: Nominations Open for General Elections
  • Monday, March 31: Candidates Meeting with Nominees
  • Tuesday, April 1: Campaigning begins
  • Tuesday, April 8: Speech Night for General Elections
  • Wednesday, April 9-Friday, April 11: Elections!
  • May 2: Reading Day & Results Out

 

If you think someone that you know would be a great addition to the Stonehill College Student Government Association, please encourage them to run for a position when we get back from break!

Meet the E-Board Candidates!

Executive President Nominee:

Jeff Santos –

Class Year: 2015
Major: History
Hometown: Beverly, MA

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
I want to lead Stonehill SGA because I feel it is an amazing opportunity to make a difference. The Executive Board serves as a liason between the administration and the students and that is an amazing honor that comes with great responsibility. I look forward to working hard for my fellow peers and being a voice for them.

 

Executive VP Nominees:

Sean Davenport –

Class Year: 2015
Major: History

Minor: Environmental Science

Hometown: Arlington, MA

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
I care deeply about Stonehill and want to ensure that it continues to be a safe, fun, and supportive institution for all its students. As a member of the SGA Executive Board, I strongly believe I can aid in furthering what makes our college great and  help us to reach new heights.

Meg Gotsell-

Class Year: 2015
Majors: Art Administration and Studio Art
Hometown: Winchester, MA

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
The different personalities and interests of the community is what motivates me to lead Stonehill. Despite all of the differences in personalities, we all chose Stonehill as our second home and as a home it should be a safe place for us to share our opinions and just enjoy as it is not only our home for 4 years, but a lifetime full of memories and experiences.

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:

I am very active on Campus and have loved Stonehill my last 3 years here and want to get more involved my last year. I want to help make Stonehill an even greater place that it already is and being elected to serve on SGA Executive Board would be a great opportunity to accomplish that.

 

Andrew Curran –

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
Over the past few years, Stonehill has exposed me to some of the most incredible opportunities – both on and off campus, domestically and abroad. I’m motivated to lead Stonehill SGA to guarantee that these opportunities continue to grow and to assure that our student body has access to even more than our campus now offers.

Dan Doherty –

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
I love the opportunities Stonehill creates for its students, and I have been fortunate enough to be a part of them in the campus community. I truly hope to express my passion for Stonehill as an SGA leader and continue to improve the student experience for everyone.

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
The willingness of the administration to collaborate with the students to effect positive change in the Stonehill community motivates me to lead Stonehill SGA.

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
I am motivated to lead SGA because of what programs have done for me over the course of my career here.  The dedication of the leaders before me have inspired me to want to give rising students the same experience I was lucky enough to have.

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
I’ve always been motivated to be a part of the community here, whether it be working in admissions, being involved as a Peer Mentor, or coordinating for ITS. As a rising senior, being on SGAs E-Board would continue to allow me to contribute in maintaining and building a better community for both current and new students.

Adrianna Rosadio –

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
I feel that with my experience, I can make next year even better than this year. I want to be able to help plan a variety of events that will appeal to all different types of people to increase involvement in student activities.

What motivates you to lead Stonehill SGA?:
I believe that Stonehill is a community of many passionate individuals. Each and every member of Stonehill has something to offer. My vision for leading SGA involves bringing all those individuals together so that they can take a step further and be leaders; Leaders who live out our mission of thinking, acting and leading for a more just and compassionate world.
