This afternoon, Vice President of Student Affairs Pauline Dobrowski sent out a campus wide e-mail announcing the closing of the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex due to structural concerns with a section of the building’s roof. These structural concerns come after a month of record snow fall and freezing temperatures throughout Massachusetts.
Dobrowski also stated in the e-mail that the Sports Complex would remain closed until engineers could assess the section of the roof in question, and that in the meantime the College has hired a contractor to remove all snow still on the roof of the building.
In the announcement, Dobrowski promised an update would be given to the College community as soon as an evaluation of the damage was complete and apologized for any inconvenience the closing may cause.
