Have Some Fun Apple Picking or Pumpkin Picking

Now that it is the middle of October and fall has finally arrived, there are some fun seasonal¬†activities we can do that are both festive and eco-friendly. Instead of buying apples and pumpkins from your local grocery store, spend an afternoon exploring the farmer’s market, or even better, find a local apple orchard or pumpkin patch and pick your own! By buying ypur [rpduce locally you can help reduce the amount of energy and fossil fuels used to transport such goods and you get a fresh tasty treat. During a New England fall nothing tastes better than fresh caramel apples, apple or pumpkin pie, or some apple cider. Also who doesn’t love carving pumpkins for Halloween? So instead of sitting around in your dorm room wasting away the last few days of nice weather, get out to your local apple orchard and pick some apples to enjoy! The fresh taste is unbeatable and the yummy treats you can make with them are endless!
