The College experienced many phishing attempts over the last two weeks and many Stonehill employees responded to the messages and provided their username and password.  These incidents resulted in a security threat to Stonehill College electronic resources, and many IT staff hours of work to resolve the problems.
As a reminder,
·         Never submit any personal or account information via email to anyone.
·         When you receive questionable email, be sure to examine the email header and the Reply-to address.
·         When presented with what looks like a College web page via a link within a message, examine the URL to make sure it is a stonehill.edu address. If it is not, do not enter your credentials.  When in doubt, contact the IT Service Desk.
·         Please note that the hackers pose as someone you know or a reputable institution and they use the username and password that you provide to send out additional phishing attacks.
If you have responded to an email you suspect to be fake within the last few days, you should immediately go to Stonehill’s password change service page to change your passwordas soon as possible.
